Sunday, December 5

Hello Friends and Families!

Can you believe it is December already?? We have been busy learning about the "Pilgrims." We are reading historical fiction in our book clubs which started last week. Our personal narratives, from the perspective of someone living in Plimoth in 1620, are also well on their way. Students have been thinking of important moments that may have happened to the first settlers of Plimoth Plantation. We have also been researching the lives of the Pilgrims and the students are working on scripts for short interviews. A celebration of all our learning will be coming soon! I will keep you updated as the end of our unit nears.

Looking ahead, we will welcome a new unit after the upcoming holiday. We will start a unit all about how Cambridge was developed and what makes Cambridge unique. I am sure we will be looking for some experts so be on the lookout for notices about this new unit.

This week is conference week. If you are unsure of your scheduled conference time please let me know. Don't forget to bring your child as he or she will be leading the first ten minutes of the conference. I am looking forward to sharing all we have completed so far this year!

Below is our Share Schedule for this week. Our theme is favorite meals. Students may share stories, artifacts, or pictures from a favorite meal. A favorite meal could be that there is a ritual for breakfast every morning, or it could be a holiday meal, or a favorite food you share in your family. Please DO NOT bring in the food to share, due to allergies in our room.

Here is this week's Share Schedule:
Monday: Rachel and Sam
Tuesday: Kesing and Aviva
Wednesday: Dasani and Ria
Thursday: Joey and Mackda

Sincerely,
Meg
